MODERN OFFICE UPGRADES
Elson Electric delivered the design-build electrical scope for the Alameda Food Bank, including tenant improvements and ground-up systems for a new warehouse. The design prioritized energy efficiency, occupant comfort, and cost-effective solutions, while maintaining uninterrupted operations and supporting nearly doubled capacity in the 19,000 SF facility.

POWERING A GROWING COMMUNITY
In 2024, the Alameda Food Bank underwent a full renovation of their existing facility as well as the construction of a new attached warehouse. Elson Electric performed the electrical scope for this project under a design-build delivery, both tenant improvements in the existing facility and ground-up electrical for the new construction.
The electrical design on this project balances energy efficiency, occupant comfort, and budget constraints to achieve the result of a sustainable community facility. Our team focused on finding long term cost-effective design solutions to meet the needs of the food bank. During construction, the food bank remained operational– nearly doubling their operational capacity with uninterrupted food distribution.
The building includes office spaces, a grocery-store-like food pantry, and an unconditioned storage warehouse. At 19,000 square feet, this project spanned nearly half an acre of territory in Alameda Point. Today, the new and improved facility enjoys improved food storage, processing, and distribution as a result of these upgrades, leading to faster turnaround times, increased capacity, and more efficient operations overall.
