Job Title: Project Engineer
Classification: Exempt | Full-Time

Location: Walnut Creek, CA
Reports To: Project Manager
Supervisory Responsibilities
This role has no supervisory responsibilities.
Position Overview
The project engineer provides technical and administrative support to the project management team throughout the lifecycle of the project. This role focuses on the estimating and takeoff efforts for new projects and change orders while also working closely with the project management team to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with company quality standards.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
• Take end to end ownership of estimating and takeoff efforts for change orders and additional work
• Support procurement of materials and equipment, including reviewing vendor quotes
• Monitor compliance with company policies, contract requirements, and safety standards
• Assist APM with submittals, RFIs, change orders, purchase orders, and project documentation
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress, identify issues, and ensure working aligns with plans and specs
• Help resolve field issues by communicating between office and job site teams
• Perform additional project-related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
• One to three years of experience in electrical construction, engineering, or project coordination
• Working knowledge of electrical construction documents, codes, and industry standards
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
• Valid California driver’s license
Work Schedule
Monday through Friday, generally 40 hours per week. Additional hours may be required to meet project deadlines
Required Travel
Regular travel to project sites throughout Northern California. Occasional overnight travel may be required
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, work on active construction sites, wear required personal protective equipment, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
